10 AM to 2 PM

​"Winter Blast" - at Prince Gallitzin Marina (Park Event)

Join us for a day of free winter activities! Go sledding, try cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, do some ice fishing, or partake in the 5K Fun Run/Walk. We will have exhibits set up talking about ice fishing, geocaching, local wildlife and more! Equipment for all activities will be provided on a first-come/first-served basis, but you may wish to bring your own sled and ice skates.

The event will be held at the Prince Gallitzin Marina along Marina Road.  Activities to include:
  • 5K Fun Run/Walk at 10 AM *
  • Guided Winter Nature Hike
  • Snowmobile demonstrations by the Glendale Lake Snowmobile Club
  • Cross-country Skis and Snowshoe loaners
  • Ice fishing
  • Geocaching, with GPS loaners
  • Disc golf course
  • Ice Skating and Sledding (bring your own skates and sleds)
  • Broomball
  • Education Station
  • Bonfire
* 5K Fun Run/Walk -Starting 10  AM at the new Prince Gallitzin Pavilion, next to the Marina. First 75 participants will receive a free reusable bag! There is no fee or pre-registration to participate. This is a non-timed event (just for fun). Well behaved pets welcome.

** Many activities are dependent on snow/ice conditions. These park programs are free of charge and open to the public.

Hot dogs and drinks will be provided by the Friends of Prince Gallitzin. There is no charge for this event, but donations will be accepted by the Friends Group for upcoming park improvement projects.

​"Memorial Day - Red, White, & Blue Weekend" - at Crooked Run Campground

Red, White, & Blue theme weekend in the Crooked Run Campground on Memorial Day Weekend!  Decorate your campsites with red, white, & blue patriotic decorations.

10:30 AM

  • Memorial Service is to honor our veterans at the Amphitheater.  We will have a 21 Gun Salute and the playing of Taps followed by a speaker.  (Sponsored by the Friends of Prince Gallitzin State Park)
  • **FAMILIES OF DECEASED VETERANS **
    This year our Memorial Day service will include a slide show of veterans who have passed away. If you would like your loved one included in the presentation please send the veteran's name, branch of service, dates of service, where they served and a picture to [email protected]. Please help us make this new addition to our service a success. We will be accepting pictures until Saturday the 25th at 9 AM.

  • Children's Decorated Bicycle Parade.  Decorate your bicycles, wagons, or anything that rolls in red, white, & blue patriotic decorations.  Parade Sponsored by the Prince Gallitzin State Park.

"Get Outdoors/Music at Muskrat" - at Muskrat Beach (Park Event)

1  to 5 PM

Prince Gallitzin State Park will be celebrating National Get Outdoors Day followed by our first “Music at Muskrat” concert series on the beach starting at 5 PM at Muskrat Beach Area #2.

This event is a FREE outdoor recreation fair for people of all ages and skill levels. There will be a variety of booths and stations set up for everyone to visit at their own pace, and will include disc golf, geocaching, fishing, archery, Kayak Instruction, guided hikes, pontoon boat tours of the lake, camping, and more! Most stations will give visitors the opportunity to try out a new activity, while others will provide information (camping, volunteering). Registration is not required, but limited spots are available for on-the-water kayak instruction (10 spots at 1 PM and 10 spots at 3 PM, 90-minute sessions).

All equipment for these activities will be provided, and fishing licenses are not required if fishing under an instructor’s direction.

Join us for a FREE Outdoor Concert Series at Muskrat Beach 2 with a live music.

The Friends of Prince Gallitzin will be holding a fundraiser at the event selling food & drinks such as hot dogs, meatballs, nachos & cheese, popcorn, desserts, etc. A free pontoon shuttle will be at the Campground Boat Rental dock to shuttle campers back & forth to Muskrat Beach area. This will be a family-friendly & pet-friendly event.

"Hawaiian Day on the Beach" - at Crooked Run Campground Beach Area

  • Come have some fun at the Crooked Run Campground Beach - Hawaiian-style. We'll have games for children of all ages.
  • Serving hotdogs, popcorn, and shaved ice.
  • Don't forget your Hawaiian shirt!

July 4&5, 2025

"Independence Day Weekend" - at Crooked Run Campground - 

Decorate your campsite at Crooked Run Campground in Red, White, & Blue to celebrate our Nation's birthday. Decorate your child's bicycle in patriotic theme for the bike parade.

11 PM

  • Children's Decorated Bicycle Parade assembles at 10:45 AM at the dump station near the Campground Store.  Parade starts promptly at 11 AM and ends at the Amphitheater.  Parade Sponsored by the Prince Gallitzin State Park.

July 26, 2025

5 to 8 PM

"Decorated Boat Float/Music at Muskrat" - at Muskrat Beach (Park Event)

  • ​Join us for a Decorated Boat Float! There will be trophies available for the best decorated boat/s. We will have one category for large boats (pontoons, motor boats and large sailboats) and one category for smaller boats (kayaks, canoes and sunfish sailboats). Meet with your decorated boats on the lake in front of Prince Gallitzin Marina at 5 PM. Large boats will cruise around the lake and small boats will paddle/sail directly to Muskrat Beach. Winners will be announced at the start of the Music at Muskrat concert.  Please email [email protected] or send us a facebook message if you plan on participating. There is NO fee required to participate.​

"Christmas in August Weekend" - at Crooked Run Campground

Decorate your campsite in Christmas decorations.
  • Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at the campground and drive through the loops.  Afterwards (approximately 45 minutes later) Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at the campground beach to hand out candy to the kids.

Prizes will be awarded at the Amphitheater to adult campers in appreciation for their camping support of the park.

Oct 10 & 11, 2025 ​

"Trunk of Treats" - Halloween Weekend - at Crooked Run Campground
   Note - This event is limited to those staying in the Campground)

​Decorate your campsites with Halloween & Autumn decorations.  Please use caution this weekend and observe campground speed limits for the safety of everyone.

Friday

  • Hayrides through the campground will start at 6 PM.  Hayrides will load and unload at the Campground Store parking lot.  $2.00 donation per rider.

Saturday

PM

  • Costume Parade lineup starts at 2:40 PM at the parade banners at the RV dump stations by the Campground Store and assembles down the hill into Maple Loop reverse to normal traffic flow.  Parade sponsored by the Prince Gallitzin State Park.
  • Costume Parade will start at 3 PM.  The Friends Group will hand out treats to children at the end of the parade.  NOTICE:  All traffic will be stopped on the Main Road and during the parade.
  • ​Campers may hand out candy at their campsites after the parade is over if they wish.  Please refrain from handing out treats during the parade as this slows down the event.

Saturday
6 to 9
